Self Employed Men – King of the White Van
75% of van drivers are self employed, according to an in-depth analysis of 65,000 Swinton Commercial Vehicle Insurance customers[1]. The analysis also found that 96% of the van drivers were male with an average age of 37.
Traditional tradesmen still rely on commercial vehicles, with most van drivers being builders (17%), followed by painters and decorators (5%), joiners (5%), landscape gardeners (4%) and carpenters (4%).
